Alef
Founded in 2013 by the late Sheikh Khalid Bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Alef Group is a privately held developer headquartered in Sharjah and led by CEO Issa Ataya. The company builds community-first, design-driven places and keeps its footprint UAE-centric, with Sharjah as its core market. Early on, Alef assembled a strong platform (about AED 4bn in assets and AED 1bn land bank in 2014), which it has used to roll out large masterplans and lifestyle assets.
Alef is best known for Al Mamsha, billed as Sharjah’s first fully walkable, car-free community—a multi-zone development widely covered in the industry press (Zone 1 alone totals 33 buildings). In 2024 Alef reported 20 buildings finished and 2,322 units handed over at Al Mamsha, signaling dependable delivery. The group also launched Olfah (approx. AED 2.5bn; 12 buildings), and continues to scale Hayyan, where early neighborhoods reached ~90% sold. Retail is part of the model too via 06 (Zero 6) Mall.
Recognition has followed: Alef won “Best Developer Project – Northern Emirates” at the Property Finder Awards, and its leadership frequently outlines a sustainability agenda (car-free planning, efficient irrigation/water reuse) that supports long-term livability and value. For investors, the appeal is local scale with visible handovers, governance clarity, and product that targets real end-user demand in a supply-tight corridor
